My Guilty Pleasure(s) - Shreya Sachdev

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a nice day. For today’s blog post, I thought I would share my secret guilty pleasures with all of you today. For those of you who don’t know, a guilty pleasure is defined as an activity or piece of media that someone enjoys but would be embarrassed by if other people found out about it. I feel like everyone has guilty pleasures and enjoys doing things that other people don’t understand or doing things that are not regarded in high value. I think that there’s nothing wrong with enjoying certain foods or movies that other people don’t necessarily like, so that’s why I’ll be proudly telling you guys about mine today and if you have any of the same guilty pleasures or hobbies then please feel free to reach out to me and share them! I'm sure I’m not alone with some of these. For now though, enjoy!

NightCore Music & Alvin and the Chipmunks Music:

Okay, so for my first guilty pleasure, I’ll be talking about my strange taste in music. Whenever I hear a good song, I always feel the need to hear the NightCore version of it. I don’t know why, but I’m obsessed with high pitched music and listening to songs that are sung in very squeaky voices. That’s why, when I hear a song that I literally love, I always look for the NightCore version of it because those versions make the song much more high pitched. If the NightCore version is not high pitched enough for me, then I always go to the Alvin and the Chipmunks version of that song because those versions make songs extremely squeaky and pleasant to hear. Considering the fact that the Alvin and the Chipmunks versions have millions of views, I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoys listening to remakes of those songs because they’re actually so satisfying to listen to.

My Story Animated & Actually Happened Videos:

I’ve already addressed this in my blog post titled “The Youtube Channel(S) I’ve Recently Been Obsessed With” and it’s true. I love the channels “Actually Happened” and “My Story Animated.” If you guys have not heard of these channels, then they’re basically just channels where people from all over the world can send in their stories that speak of events that have happened in their life, and then a professional will turn their story into an animation and the story will be given a professional voice over actor as well. The reason as to why some people like to make fun of these channels is because some of the stories are straight up hilarious as well as creepy. However, I love them and I think that they’re so entertaining. Both these channels post quite frequently and I make sure to watch at least one video a day.

Youtube Drama Videos:

I’m pretty sure this is quite a popular guilty pleasure since many people enjoy some sort of Youtube drama and find it entertaining. I’m definitely one of those people. Recently, with the Tati Westbrook, James Charles, and Jeffree Star Youtube drama, I have been absolutely obsessed. At first, I understood Tati’s point of view and believed that she was being completely honest. However, after watching James Charles’ video I am beginning to change my viewpoint and believe that he’s innocent. I think that this is a very common opinion right now, but overall I wish them both the best of luck and hope that they do not lose their careers over this feud. The James Charles and Tati situation has not been the only drama that I have been keeping up with. I also remember the drama between Lia (Ssniperwolf) and Gabi (Fancy Vlogs by Gabi). Basically, Lia posted a video reacting to girls who try hard to be Ariana Grande, and Gabi was one of them. Gabi did not handle it well and posted a response video. Throughout the argument, I tended to support Lia much more than Gabi. The other argument and drama that I enjoyed watching was the conflict between Tana Mongeau and Freelee. It isn’t difficult to guess which side I was on as it was of course Tana Mongeau. I genuinely think Freelee is a 90 year old psychopath who would go as far as murdering someone if they weren’t vegan.

Low-Budget Films:

Finally, I really enjoy watching low-budget films. For me, I tend to get obsessed with the idea of a movie rather than its execution, so even if a movie isn’t filmed well, I will still be tempted to watch it if I really like the idea. I watched “The Boyfriend Killer” for example which is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life, but I don’t regret watching it because the plot was somewhat interesting and in some ways because the filming was so bad, it made it enjoyable as I was laughing the entire time. A few days ago, I also watched “The Rachels” which I was drawn to because of its storyline. It was not filmed well and from the first scene you could tell it was a low-budget film. I will be doing a review on it very soon. Overall, that’s it for my guilty pleasures. I do have more, but I thought I would just list a few and see whether or not some people have the same guilty pleasures as me or not. Let me know if you do!
