Movies That Make Me L O L The Most - Shreya Sachdev

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a nice day. For today’s blog post, I thought I would talk about the movies that make me laugh the most. As some of you might know, a few weeks ago I posted a blog titled “Probably The Worst Movies I’ve Ever Seen” and in that post, I just talked about movies I had seen that were really bad and movies that I didn’t recommend for anyone to see, and then a couple of months ago, I posted two other blog posts titled “My Favorite Movies of All Time” and “Movies That Make Me Cry The Most” and I got a lot of positive feedback from both those posts, so I decided that today I should talk about the movies that make me laugh the most. As you all know, film and television is a very big theme of this website and because so many of my website visitors are people who come on my website just to read my film and television show reviews, I think I want to incorporate more blog posts around the topic of my favorite movies and my reasons for liking certain movies more than others on the personal blog section of this website. If any of you have any suggestions for what I should talk about next (related to film and television) make sure to let me know because I’m always interested in hearing what you have to say and taking your suggestions. Also, make sure to let me know which movies make you laugh the most, and without further ado let’s get started!

  1. The Hangover (2009): So, I mentioned this movie in my “My Favorite Movies Of All Time” blog post and I wasn’t lying at all because this movie is absolutely hilarious and every time I watch it, I laugh so hard. It’s honestly one of those movies I watch whenever I’m upset and I want to make myself feel better, or when I’m bored and I want something good to watch: I know that this movie won’t let me down. Zach Galifianakis is definitely the star of this movie because the things he says and the things he does crack me up so much. The way that Allen, Stu, and Phil try and find Doug literally kills me because they always find themselves in some sort of trouble. I think that out of the entire trilogy, the first movie was definitely the best, but the second and third were really funny as well - especially the third because even though there wasn’t an actual hangover in the third movie, there was still the team (Allen, Stu, and Phil) working together to try and get Doug back, and Chow really helped with the humor in the last movie.

  2. 21 Jump Street (2012): 21 Jump Street is absolutely hilarious, and I’m sure that anyone would agree with me on this one. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have such amazing chemistry and because they’re playing such different characters, the way that they talk to each other and the situations they find themselves in are absolutely hilarious. I thought it was really interesting to see how Jonah Hill’s character, who had been bullied at high school, was now extremely popular and was the star of high school when he returned to find out who the drug dealer was, whereas Channing Tatum, who you would expect to be extremely popular with all the girls and all the cool guys, was actually the chemistry nerd and the person that didn’t have a lot of friends. There are some really funny scenes and dialogue in this movie, and I would recommend everyone to watch this film. I’ve watched it so many times and I laugh harder each time I see it.

  3. Superbad (2007): Superbad is a bit of an older film since it was released in 2007, but it’s still absolutely hilarious. Just like 21 Jump Street, the two main characters (played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera) have such amazing chemistry and because they’re so different, they find themselves in such hilarious situations. Whilst the two main characters are amazing in the film. the real superstar of this movie is Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character who plays Fogell. He does such a great job at playing the guy who gets picked on in school and the guy who sort of just lets everyone walk all over him. I know I may sound mean when saying this, but the way he gets bullied by Jonah Hill’s character is literally hilarious. The fact that these three characters just wanted alcohol for a party to impress some girls, but then end up in such crazy situations involving the cops makes it even funnier and overall, I would really recommend you all to watch this movie. Don’t think of it as old, but rather think of it as a classic that you should watch, especially if you’re in high school.

  4. Due Date (2010): Due Date is another hilarious movie, and that’s honestly because of how amazing Zach Galifianakis is as an actor. He does a great job at playing a goofy, ignorant, and humorous guy, who has good and genuine intentions, but sometimes makes dumb mistakes. His character in Due Date is very similar to his character in the Hangover, except it’s a little bit more mature, and I think that’s a crucial thing because it works well with Robert Downey Jr’s character. Throughout the movie, you feel really bad for Robert Downey Jr’s character because all he wants to do is get home in time for his son’s birth, but due to the fact that he’s met Zach Galifianakis’s character, things go awry and it’s hilarious to see the situations that these two men find themselves in. Again, I really recommend everyone to watch this movie.

  5. Cheaper by the Dozen 2: I really liked both the Cheaper by the Dozen movies (1 & 2), but if I had to pick one, then I would go with the second movie just because I thought that the competition that the two families have with each other was absolutely hilarious. I’ve always felt like Steve Martin is such an amazing actor, and you can really tell how badly he wants to roll his eyes when he hears something that Eugene Levy’s character, Jimmy Murtaugh, says or does. Both families, especially the fathers, are so passive with each other and it’s hilarious how fake they act with each other and the amount of competition they have, for absolutely no reason. It’s a comedy movie that’s full of family fun and I really recommend everyone to watch it. There we go! That’s it for the top five movies that make me laugh the hardest. This was extremely hard to write and narrow down, because I’ve watched so many movies and because so many of them have made me laugh. Some honorable mentions that weren’t on this list include Wedding Crashers, Meet The Parents, Pink Panther, We’re The Millers, This Is The End, The Interview, Father of the Bridge, Napoleon Dynamite, and many others that I just couldn’t all fit into this blog post. To be completely honest, I’ve always felt like the best heartbreak cure is to watch a funny movie. For a second, you forget the world that you’re living in and you feel like the only people that exist are the people you’re watching on the screen and you’re part of the story that’s being told. Like I said above, make sure to let me know which movies make you laugh the hardest since I’m always looking for funny movies.
