Otherhood (2019) - Shreya Sachdev
Otherhood is a 2019 comedy film directed by Cindy Chupack and stars Patricia Arquette, Angela Bassett, Felicity Huffman, Jake Lacy, Sinqua Walls, Jake Hoffman, Heidi Gardner, and many others. Otherhood is about three moms who decide to go and visit their adult sons in New York City after all three of them forget to wish their mother a happy mother’s day. Therefore, this entire story revolves around the relationships that these mothers have with their sons and how these mothers try and make room for themselves in their son’s lives, despite the fact that their sons are well grown adults. I really loved this movie. I thought that could really feel the mothers’ pain when they saw that their sons hadn’t texted them to wish them a happy mother’s day, and I loved the way that they just decided to be spontaneous and visit their sons. This movie is really funny and the acting is amazing. Each mother has a different “issue” with her son and it’s clear that each mother also has a very deep connection with her son. You can really feel the love as you’re watching this film and as a result, I would have to give this film a 10/10.
