Ibiza (2018) - Shreya Sachdev
Ibiza is a 2018 comedy film directed by Alex Richanbach and stars Richard Madden, Gillian Jacobs, Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson, Michaela Watkins, and many others. Ibiza is about a woman named Harper who is assigned to travel to Ibiza, Spain, for her business. In Ibiza, she lets loose and meets a handsome DJ who she has a flirty encounter with. Therefore, this movie is the kind of chick-flick you would watch with your girlfriends since it’s a lot about meeting guys, drinking, smoking, and making the most of your life when you’re young. When I first started watching this movie, I liked it because I thought that the acting was really good. You could tell that Harper was stressed out at work and that she was extremely happy to have been assigned to Ibiza for a couple of days. This movie really shows you how young people who are starting to get jobs have to deal with the whole work ethic and staying disciplined. However, as time went on, I started to dislike this movie more and more because the scenes weren’t very funny and it just reminded me of another teenage cliche movie. I didn’t really understand the whole plot of this movie and didn’t see a main theme here since I felt like the scenes were just jumping around and most of them didn’t have any value or meaning. I would give this movie a 5/10.
