No Good Nick (2019) - Shreya Sachdev
No Good Nick is a 2019 comedy television show created by David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan. The show stars Siena Agudong, Lauren Lindsey Donzis, Kalama Epstein, Melissa Joan Hart, and Sean Astin. No Good Nick is about a wealthy family who one day find a girl on their doorstep who claims to be a lost relative. The family is at first reluctant to accept her into their home due to the fact that they don’t know her, but then decide to accept her with open arms once they realize how kind she is as a person and how helpful she is. However, the audience is already aware that Nick is not a lost relative and is actually planning on robbing the family due to the fact that the audience witnesses phone calls that Nick has with her real family. As Nick continues to live with this family and become close to them, she must deal with gaining their trust but making sure that she does not get too attached to them. When I first started this series, I really enjoyed it. I thought it had an interesting plot especially since you would never expect a thirteen year old girl to be up to something mischievous and to be brave enough to rob a family. What I like about the show is that you can watch the different relationships grow from one episode to the next. The audience also continues to have mixed feelings towards Nick since even though she is planning on robbing an innocent family, she has a very difficult life at home and is somewhat forced into the situation. I will say, however, that I think this show is made for a certain age group and that whilst I enjoyed it, I definitely didn’t love it because I do think I’m a bit too mature to be watching such a show. There were many times when I thought that character decisions were stupid and that they didn’t make any sense. However, I’m sure that people aged 9-14 would really enjoy this show. I would give it a 7/10 from my perspective but somebody who is younger than me would probably give it a lot higher.
