Dead To Me is a 2019 drama series produced and directed by Liz Feldman, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jessica Elbaum, Christina Applegate, and Christie Smith. The show stars Christina Applegate herself, Linda Cardellini, James Marsden, Brandon Scott, and many others. Dead To Me is about a woman named Jen (played by Christina Applegate) who joins a self-help group after having to deal with the death of her husband. Over there, she meets Judy (played by Linda Cardellini) and the two hit it off right away. They find themselves becoming best friends and doing everything together. However, Judy holds a secret that she knows if Jen were to find out, Jen would never want to see her again. Therefore, the entire story revolves around Jen and Judy’s friendship and how Judy must deal with the guilt she holds when talking to Jen and becoming close to her and her children. I have to say that I really love this show: I’ve watched the entire first season and it’s a very entertaining show that is able to make you smile one moment and cry the next. The acting, especially, is really amazing and you can tell that Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are really committed to their roles and their dedication is what makes the show come to life. The story is extremely interesting as well and each episode will leave you wanting more. My one problem with it is that there are a few scenes that show Jen mourning over her husband’s death that are a bit too extended and a bit too long, and as a result the show is slightly slow. However, I look forward to Season Two. Dead To Me Season One gets a 9/10.
